It is 14k white gold, and a round stone in a box setting, it also has "Happiness" on the inside of the band.

The sales man seemed to be fairly honest. He let me know that it wasn't perfect, that it clearly had black spots and even let me see for myself.
When you look in the center it looks like there is a hole in the bottom?
I was told that that is a good way to tell that it is an old ring. He guessed from the late 30's or early 40's.
I love the ring, but am wondering about it's age?

Hi David. I recently purchased a ring for $88.00. The gentleman that sold it did indicate that it was 14K gold overlay, a cz and possibly a “sample” ring. My concern is that the ring itself is marked “14K Zales Jewelers”. I contacted the manager at our local Zales Jewelers and she indicated that is is illegal to stamp a ring 14K unless it is 14K and she also indicated that Zales does not have “CZ’s” or “sample” rings….with the exception of class rings and they are stamped “brass” She did indicate that some “older” Zales pieces could be stamped..but she did not elaborate. Do you think I got a deal or paid to much for a cz ring. Thank You.
